Why Earn a Management Degree?

The objective of this management program is to train broadly competent managers for leadership roles in a wide variety of organizations, public or private, product or service oriented and profit or not-for-profit. To accomplish this basic objective, the bachelor's degree in management offers students the opportunity to acquire knowledge about the management of human and physical resources and to acquire skills useful in the management of any organization.

This program emphasizes the importance of effective oral and written communication, teamwork, decision-making, entrepreneurial management and diversity in the business environment. In addition, the BBA in management introduces students to the application and strategic use of the acquired knowledge and skills in areas such as personnel management, organizational behavior, production management, international business and small business.

After completing the bachelor's in business management, you’ll have the education it takes to start working in an entry-level management position in many different types of environments, including nonprofit organizations, privately held companies, large corporations and small businesses. With so many different ways to use your skills, the direction of your career—and your future—is entirely up to you.

Applied Leadership

Description
Examines a variety of leadership and management styles and their application. Emphasis is on problem-solving, collaboration, managing resources, ethical behavior, using appropriate leadership style, team-building and characteristics of effective leadership.

Business Analytics

Description
Introduces the data analysis process and the role of business decision-making. Explores qualitative and quantitative data, data vs. information, data research, relevance, validity, business intelligence tools, ethical and legal implications of data analysis, data integrity, primary and secondary data, MAIP (Measurement Analysis, Interpretation Presentation) and ethical and legal implications of data analysis.

Project Management

Description
Introduces students to the five processes of project management: initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing. Topics include an overview of the evolution of project management, tools and techniques and the project life cycle. Students will gain experience with the basic techniques of project planning, scheduling, execution and closure.
