Gear up for your future and gain the skills you need to diagnose, repair, and overhaul light duty diesel vehicles with a concentration in Light Duty Diesel.
The Light Duty Diesel concentration will provide students with the skills necessary to diagnose and repair today’s light vehicle diesels. The light duty diesel market is highly competitive, and the popularity of these vehicles has brought them to the forefront of technology. It’s imperative for students today, and incumbent employees, to have the knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to diagnose and repair these vehicles.
- Subjects covered will include diesel engine design, component identification, operation, engine and vehicle diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
- Students will have the foundational skills to take the ASE A9 Light Vehicle Diesel Engines exam.
- Graduates of this concentration will have the knowledge and hands-on skills in light vehicle diesel engines sought after by employers.

Curriculum
Students will learn engine theory and operation, service components and maintenance, tools and equipment, controls systems, and complete the program with performance and diagnostics. The students are provided the basic hands-on skills for an entry level technician position and prepared for taking the ASE A9 Light Vehicle Diesel Engine certification exam.
