Program Highlights
Put your career in motion and gain the skills you need to diagnose, service, and repair hybrid/electric vehicles with a concentration in Hybrid/EV.
The Hybrid/Electric Vehicle concentration will provide students with the necessary skills to diagnose and repair today’s advanced propulsion vehicles. The industry is constantly advancing with new technologies, and students today must have the knowledge and hands-on skills to succeed in this ever-evolving climate.
- Subjects covered will include Electric Vehicle (EV) and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) safety, design, system operation, high voltage battery service and repair, drive systems, vehicle diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
- Students will gain the foundational skills to take the ASE L3 Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Specialist exam.
- Graduates of this concentration will develop the knowledge and hands-on skills in Hybrid Electric and Electric Vehicles sought after by employers.

Hybrid Electric and Electric Vehicles are the way of the future, and as technology advances, the demand for highly skilled automotive technicians will also increase. As an automotive technician, you will be inspecting, repairing, and maintaining Hybrid/Electric cars and light trucks. You will be diagnosing problems, determining repairs, and explaining repairs to customers. Job satisfaction comes from having the knowledge and hands-on skills to help people get back on the road safely.

Curriculum
Students will learn Hybrid/Electric vehicle safety precautions and procedures, theory of operation, service components, maintenance, tools and equipment, control systems, and complete the program with performance and diagnostics. Students are provided the basic hands-on skills for an entry level technician position and prepared to take the ASE L3 Light Duty Hybrid/Electric Vehicle Specialist exam.
