Physical Therapy Assistants Club
Description
The PTA Club is a Registered Student Organization at Baker College and is defined as a group of currently enrolled students at Baker College with an interest in the field of physical therapy who strive to promote the field of physical therapy while providing service and outreach within the Baker College community and surrounding areas.
The mission of the PTA Club is to provide a student-based environment which contributes to education, community service, and personal and/or professional development.
Activities include fund raising, volunteering, team building, and community outreach.

How to Get Involved
It’s important to note that each PTA campus is responsible for how their PTA Club is run. I can only speak for the Owosso campus. Any student enrolled at Baker College is able to join the PTA club. There is no specific application. Students are directed to contact Erin Smith to join. The following rules for membership include:
All PTA Club members serve as representatives of Baker College students, faculty and staff. As such, members of the PTA Club must conduct themselves with the utmost integrity and character and abide by all listed expectations and policies within the Student Handbook. Any members whose behaviors are not meeting these expectations may be suspended or expelled from the College at the discretion of the Director of Student Affairs and campus leadership. In addition:
- All members must be enrolled at Baker College and in good academic standing.
- No discrimination on the basis of race, color, creed, sex, religion, or national origin shall exist within the organization.
- Hazing of any kind is prohibited.
- The PTA Club will maintain adequate record-keeping and provide to the Director of Student Affairs as requested. This includes membership information, meeting minutes and fundraising records.
- All communication including signs, posters, and marketing materials must be approved by the Director of Student Affairs and placed only in areas approved by campus leadership.
