Help make a positive impact on the lives of older adults and individuals needing long-term care with a concentration in Nursing Home Administration.
Nursing Home and other LTC (long-term care) administrators plan, organize, direct, and coordinate LTC services in private and public facilities, agencies, hospitals, and other LTC settings. The Nursing Home Administration Concentration enhances the Healthcare Administration degree and complements other academic degrees such as accounting, business, management, communication, nursing, and health science by providing additional specialized knowledge and education in long-term care.
- Our curriculum is developed and taught by licensed nursing home administrators to ensure it addresses the demands of the real world.
- The Nursing Home Administration Concentration complements other academic degrees (accounting, business, management, communication, nursing, health science, etc.) by providing additional specialized knowledge and education in the field of long-term care (LTC).
- Students completing the four concentration courses (with NHA prefixes) may be eligible to sit for the Michigan Nursing Home Administrator exam.

Curriculum
The nursing home administration curriculum is designed to comprehensively prepare students for licensure by providing a rigorous and specialized education that covers key areas such as healthcare management, regulatory compliance, financial administration, and ethical considerations, ensuring graduates possess the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully pass the NHA licensure examination and excel in their roles as competent and compassionate nursing home administrators. Students completing the four courses with NHA prefixes during their Junior year or Fall Year 4 fulfill the 12 credits of program elective requirements and may be eligible to take the Michigan – Nursing Home Administrator Exam.
