Appointments for low-cost dental hygiene services are available at Baker College’s Center for Dental Education. The care is provided by students in the associate degree dental hygiene program under the supervision of licensed dentists and hygienists. The center is open to all community members – children, adults, veterans and seniors to name a few. Documentation of financial need is not required and fees are nominal.
“Community members can save hundreds of dollars on treatment, and students gain experience that prepares them for successful careers. As a result, we have helped many individuals and families without any dental insurance who would have otherwise gone untreated”, said Dr. Karen Bratus, a licensed dentist and Director of Dental Services at Baker College of Clinton Township. Due to the low cost, individuals are able to get recommended periodontal services on a regular basis to maintain their oral health. This is also helpful to those patients with a higher risk of dental disease who require more frequent checkups.
