The National League for Nursing (NLN), one of the leading associations for nurse faculty and leaders in nursing education, has selected Heraldine Flores, MSN Ed, RN, CPN, CNE as a test item writer for the Certified Nurse Educator Examination (CNE). The CNE exam is a performance assessment that allows nursing faculty to demonstrate their knowledge, experience, and versatility as a qualified instructor in nursing academia.
While the CNE’s teaching roles are numerous and determined by multiple factors such as program, rank, and institution, the capacity of their teaching ability is developed through their engagement with their students, colleagues, and academic environments.
As the NLN holds jurisdiction over the minutiae of the CNE, they have the ability to appoint voluntary nursing educators who have successfully met the necessary criteria to assume the role of writing exam items for future generations of the exam.
The NLN is the leading organization in nursing education. It primarily offers professional development and networking opportunities as well as public policy directives to its members, ultimately providing them with the necessary tools to outwardly exemplify and uphold the ideals of the organization as nursing educators.
