Juliane Chreston poses with other participants at the 2018 ALI Workshop
Juliane H. Chreston, OTD, OTRL, Professor in Baker College’s Master of Occupational Therapy Program, was accepted into the Academic Leadership Institute (ALI), sponsored by the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA).
The purpose of ALI is to develop future academic leaders at all levels. The program allows participants the opportunity to grow and develop as academic leaders in the profession. ALI participants attend a 2-day intensive workshop, complete 7 monthly online modules, and participate in monthly facilitated group mentoring sessions. The intensive workshop took place this summer, in Alexandria, VA.
“I’ve already learned so much about leadership and how to positively influence change through participation in this Institute,” said Chreston. “An added bonus has been the opportunity to network with leaders within the occupational therapy profession from around the country. The academic landscape is continuously changing, so honing the skills to ensure Baker’s occupational therapy program remains cutting edge now and into the future is critical.”
