Overview
Professional Development is a way to gain deeper knowledge, a new skill set or advancing levels of instruction to grow faculty at Baker.The Mission of the Center for Teaching Excellence is to create, identify, and provide support structures and processes to cultivate a professional learning environment where faculty take ownership and are positioned to direct their own professional learning relative to Baker’s Mission and Institutional Goals.
Types of Professional Development
- Baker Conferences
- Virtual Conference in the Fall
- In-Person Conference in the Spring
- OnlineLive – learn though a live presenter on a Zoom meeting
- Online – learn in an asynchronous setting
- Book Clubs
- Live Chat – ask questions anytime through Google Chat
- Lunch (Launch) and Learn – in person collaboration of learning
- In-Person – content specific to support the needs on campus
- Professional Learning Committees – small group collaboration of learning with an asynchronous and a synchronous components.
